As part of the Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) Directorate-Radars and Sensors Center, you will be an integral part of helping Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) further our vision to be the global leader in core and next-generation weapon and security solutions. The SI&T Directorate is responsible for integration, test and validation activities for RMD Naval Programs (NP). SI&T employees provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SI&T employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing, and sell-off of RMD's most sophisticated systems and technologies. Our System Engineers work with the other RMD Engineering disciplines from development of initial system concepts to product sell-off. We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and test system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final selloff to the customer.

Job Description:
We are seeking a Lab Manager to be part of the Systems Integration & Test team under the Undersea & Ship Systems (USS) Department to support the multiple programs. The Lab Manager will be responsible for the management of Engineering Labs located within the Portsmouth, RI site.
Duties include coordination and execution of Raytheon and RMD Engineering Lab requirements. Provide leadership to implement solutions, drive consistency and eliminate potential findings to proactively prepare for internal and external audits (AS 9100/ISO 9001 audits, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) audits and Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) audits). Responsibilities include maintaining and standardizing lab supplies, test equipment, consumables, following security procedures, safety and housekeeping in multiple labs.

The Lab Manager shall ensure lab personnel operate to standard lab run rules and applicable Raytheon policies within the lab, ensuring compliance with Safety, Quality controls, 6S, Foreign Object Damage (FOD)/ Foreign Object Elimination (FOE), Equipment Calibration, Raytheon Property Controls, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls, Housekeeping, Shelf-life Controls, Preventative Maintenance, and Ergonomics. This position requires the ability to manage logistics of various contract requirements and the ability to brief leadership on lab status/progress and the outcome of regular audits on a consistent basis.
Primary Tasks:
  • Lead audit/assessment preparation and support; Security, EHSS, FOE/FOD, AS9100, 6S and Voluntary Protection Program (VPP); develop corrective action plans
  • Support closed area re-configurations and expansions
  • Disseminate notices, training and other information from Security, including current weekly notifications
  • Ensure proper visitor/escort procedures are followed in accordance with the Closed Area SOP
  • Manage room access
  • Provide instruction on requesting room access
  • Notify Security for changes, including additions, deletions, name changes, arming and disarming privileges
  • Coordinate dissemination of new spin-lock combinations
  • Maintain documented room configuration
  • Ensure open/close and end of day procedures are established, documented, and followed
  • Inspect, disable capabilities as needed, and place approval stickers on all unclassified company provided laptops used in the closed area
  • Assist with Safety awareness and hazard mitigation
  • Coordinate and disseminate information regarding planned Information System downtime.
  • Provide informal orientation training to people new to the Access list
  • Coordinate housekeeping access and room cleaning

This position will require the ability to access US only data systems, therefore, U.S. Citizenship status is required. Additionally, an active U.S. Security Clearance, as of day one of employment, is required.

  • Knowledgeable in lab safety and 6S (Housekeeping)
Active/Current DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Desired Skills:
  • Lab and Asset Management Systems experience
  • Working Knowledge of Raytheon lab run rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of ESD Controls (Garment control, wrist straps, SSWS, and monitoring) Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) including Excel macros
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work well with others and on teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership, well-organized, able to direct the work of others.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.

A four year degree and 6 years of related experience OR in lieu of degree 4 years of experience AND 6 years of related work experience for a total of 10 years experience.
