Bring your talent and skills to the following Raytheon Missile Defense (RMD) group: The systems Integration & Test (SIT) Directorate is responsible for integration, test and validation activities for Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) Naval Programs (NP). SI&T employees provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SI&T employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing, and sell-off of RMDs most sophisticated systems and technologies. Our System Engineers work with the other RMD Engineering disciplines from development of initial system concepts to product sell-off. We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and test system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final selloff to the customer. An opportunity for a lead system engineer currently exists within SI&T Undersea & Ship Systems Department in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Undersea & Ship Systems (USS) Personnel execute integration, verification, validation, and sell off for numerous defense programs with a primary focus on domestic and international naval systems including: Surface Ship, Submarine, Mine-hunting, and Missile Launching systems.
This position can be either a G09 or G10 depending on experience and education
Job Description: The Undersea & Ship Systems department is in need of a lead system engineer the responsibilities include:
Plans and executes independently software/systems integration plans and schedules
Prepares presentations and written communication for various stakeholders on program
Leads by example, adheres to and ensures alignment with the Raytheon Values and Behaviors.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 6 years of experience (minimum of 8 for G10) in the field of engineering or related technical discipline(integration and test in either a lab or field setting)
Technical leadership experience
Experience in the operation, test and troubleshooting of complex military systems
Experience with software/systems integration planning and execution
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to generate and present technical documentation, including customer briefings
Active/Current DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Desired Skills:
Experience leading a team, including earned value reporting (experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar budget tracking system)
EVMS Certified Level II
Experience with CMMI (Capability maturity Model Integration)
Experience with Raytheons Proposal Capture Process(development of compliant Basis of Estimates (BOE) and White Sheet Development)
Experience with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process and Engineering Labor Forecasting (ELF) System.
Knowledge of the Performance Development Process
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and techniques (experience as a SCRUM master)
Strong MATLAB knowledge and experience as it applies to conducting performance analysis
Experience with DOORS or related requirements management database tool
Experience with programming in MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or other programming language
Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline
Experience supporting US Navy and/or DoD customers
Familiarity with Navy systems and product lifecycle
Ability to travel as required (able to provide underway system support during sea events)
Required Education:
BS in a relevant STEM field of study
