Bring your talent and skills to the following Raytheon Missile Defense (RMD) group: The systems Integration & Test (SIT) Directorate is responsible for integration, test and validation activities for Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) Naval Programs (NP). SI&T employees provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. SI&T employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing, and sell-off of RMDs most sophisticated systems and technologies. Our System Engineers work with the other RMD Engineering disciplines from development of initial system concepts to product sell-off. We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and test system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final selloff to the customer. An opportunity for a senior system engineer currently exists within SI&T Undersea & Ship Systems Department in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Undersea & Ship Systems (USS) Personnel execute integration, verification, validation, and sell off for numerous defense programs with a primary focus on domestic and international naval systems including: Surface Ship, Submarine, Mine-hunting, and Missile Launching systems.
Job Description: As a senior test engineer you will apply your experience and technical expertise in the planning, integration, test and activation of the naval systems (including performing stage testing for all Raytheon and non-Raytheon equipment connected to the network). The senior systems test engineer will function as a technical member of the test team, interacting with a variety of stakeholders including System Integration and System Test Management, Navy Agencies, Navy Labs, Prime Contractors and selected major vendors. This position will require some travel and participation in programmatic and technical reviews. In this position, the candidate is responsible for:
Interpreting test requirements and documenting test procedures
Analyzing data to drive issues to root cause
Generating Change Requests (CRs) on technical issues
Ensuring Hardware/Software requirement are met and processes are followed
Supporting production testing & troubleshooting
Provide regular internal status reports to System Test Team Leads
Required Skills:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of engineering or related technical discipline (integration and test in either a lab or field setting)
Extensive experience with verification activities, test procedure development and test conduct
Customer focus and collaboration skills
Proven Multi-tasking skills - close out projects completely
Technical writing/presentation skills
Active/Current DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one. Desired Skills:
Prior experience/working knowledge of Military and/or Commercial vessel
Familiarity with Navy systems and product lifecycle
Experience supporting US Navy and/or DoD customers
Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline
Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and techniques
Strong MATLAB knowledge and experience as it applies to conducting performance analysis
Experience with Linux/Unix and programming in MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or other programming language
Experience presenting to internal & external customers utilizing PowerPoint or other presentation tools
Ability to travel as required (able to provide underway system support during sea events) Required Education:
This position requires 4 years of experience in systems integration & test and a BS in a relevant STEM field of study
