Raytheon Supplier Engineers are involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. Supplier Engineers provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. Supplier Engineers are involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. Supplier Engineers ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. Supplier Engineers drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. Supplier Engineers initiate continuous and measureable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.
Raytheon is in need to fill a critical supplier engineer role to manage suppliers that fall within the Naval Power technologies. The products and sub-technologies covered by the supply base are as follows: Circuit Card Assemblies, Mechanical Assemblies, Electrical Assemblies and Testing Capabilities for them.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
Define, communicate and verify configuration requirements
Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
Ensure product and process capability across the suppliers value stream, including sub-tiers
Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the suppliers manufacturing and quality systems
Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
Manage product non-conformances; Drive root cause and corrective action
Provide manufacturing guidance to suppliers
Proactively identify supplier risk and develop the mitigation plan
Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
Collaborate with EOSQP (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and the Programs) to drive supplier performance to goals
Actively participate in program / engineering reviews and change boards
Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Required Skills:
A minimum of 6 years experience to include experience in mechanical engineering, system engineering, manufacturing & quality systems, technical supplier management, electrical engineering and Program/Production Management is required
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain final Secret DoD clearance
Engineering interpretation of technical documentation
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team based setting
Experience working in a dynamic environment where work was planned, organized and prioritized
The ability to understand technical requirements of procured parts, including Statements of Work (SOW)
Experience with suppliers in the electrical, mechanical or energetics supply base or with products in the sub-technologies listed in the job description
Strong working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office suite or similar software programs
Desired Skills:
Masters Degree in the following Majors: Business Administration, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
Experience with manufacturing, testing, design, and development of the type of products described previously
Experience in designing equipment for use in saltwater applications and marine technology
Experience supporting business and functional deliverables
Experience performing supplier assessments
Excellent phone etiquette, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
Familiarity of Export/Import regulations
The ability to proactively anticipate and identify needs and expectations of department and integrate into work process
Familiarity with corporate goals and aspirations
Experience in requirements and interface development
Experience in Statement of Work (SOW) generation
5+ years of experience interfacing and communicating with all levels within an organization as well as with a large external customer base
Active Secret/Top Secret clearance
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelors of Science is required in one of the following Majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering or related Engineering field
