Job Summary:
The Raytheon Flight Test Quality Engineer is a pivotal position in successfully managing multiple flight test program activities, AMRAAM & Special Programs at Eglin AFB, Fort Walton Beach, FL. Accountabilities include, executing activities which span quality management, quality assurance and inspection. This QE will be the Quality lead working with the Integration and Verification IPT in support of build activity and flight test operations at the various test ranges. This fast pace, dynamic environment requires a person with a strong knowledge of the Raytheon QMS who has the ability to adapt RTX Quality best practices to the build activities undertaken by this team. As each situation arises, this QE must be able to use sound judgment and critical thinking skills to provide direction and influence decisions in support of the teams activities.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Understand and apply the requirements and expectations of the Program and Customer Quality requirements at all levels of build, test and analysis activities.
  • Ensure that company policies and objectives are translated into quality performance standards for the team.
  • Have the ability to motivate and build a high performance team. Lead the development of processes and systems to align the business objectives and to drive operational excellence.
  • Able to analyze/validate measurement system capability for accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility, and stability over time.
  • Predict quality of products/services, processes and other key work system elements using historical, empirical and/or theoretical data in operational and statistical models.
  • Perform analysis of nonconformities to: assess the perceptiveness and robustness of detection processes; assess ongoing and sibling operational risks; characterize causes as routine (common) or exceptional (special); and develop effective resolution plans
  • Identify risks and opportunities, developing mitigation and/or implementation plans and strategies.
  • Facilitate corrective actions, closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process predictability and capability.
  • Provide support to Consent-to-Build and Launch-Readiness reviews
  • Facilitate timely communication and exchange of relevant information between internal and external customers.
Interface with AFB personnel, customers and Program management on a regular basis.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with working across IPTs to address design issues, configuration changes and risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problem root cause and initiate and implement effective corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change management through the use of process improvement tools including Design for Six Sigma; failure modes effects analysis (FMEA); statistical process control (SPC); and design of experiments (DOE).
  • Proficient at preparing and presenting clear and concise presentations to upper management and customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, and across functions in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the understanding and application of the following Aerospace Standards; ISO, AS9100 and AS9102
  • An active Secret US security clearance
