Raytheon Missile and Defense is seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer II or Principal Quality Assurance Engineer

NOTE: This is a multi-level position that can be a salary grade Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer II or Principal Quality Assurance Engineer based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibilities required for the position.

The Program Quality Engineer will provide quality engineering support and expertise to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. The candidate must provide education and knowledge on the use of quality tools in the administration of the Quality System, and apply quality engineering skills to develop and deploy effective methods for verifying and accepting processes and products.

The Program Quality Engineer will use analytical tools and methods to: improve product design; minimize inspection; solve fabrication problems; complete such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyses and reporting; develop techniques and methods; support process improvements; complete special investigations and audits; take preventative and corrective actions; support design reviews and audits to ensure that quality is engineered into the product; and develop product acceptance techniques and plans. This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Required Skills:
Six (6) years of Engineering experience within Quality, Supplier, and/or Manufacturing
Demonstrated engineering experience with competency in a relevant technical discipline (aerospace, manufacturing, defense, etc.) with established praxis of relevant Quality principles. Examples: Leading teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions and implement robust process controls
Experience writing and presenting complex presentations (Reviews, corrective action boards, COPQ reduction, etc.) and complex data to peers, leadership, suppliers, and customers.
Experience in leading by influence, with discovery and resolution of issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs and factories and/or supplier health development
Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics

Desired Skills:
Eight (8) years of Engineering experience within Quality, Supplier, and/or Manufacturing
Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications. Experience with Six Sigma methodology and tools such as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics and the identification/institution of perceptive verifications
Hands on use of Statistical Process Controls for process monitoring, qualification and/or design feedback
Ability to comprehend and translate external and internal requirements into effective work instructions for various internal functions
Ability to understand drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials, consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control
Manufacturing process knowledge (assembly, inspection, test)
Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100
Experience in supporting design and manufacturing processes
Demonstrated ability to lead and work across cross functional process improvement teams
Experience working with external suppliers and inspection techniques
Level 4 Mission Assurance Certification (Internal candidates)
General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)
General knowledge of aerospace / defense products and systems technologies
Proficient in the use of Pareto Analysis, Cause/Effect Diagrams, Process Mapping
Experienced in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis
Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis and Design of Experiments
Knowledge of Performance Specification and Requirements Management Practices
Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities
Strong leader that exhibits presence and influence
Effective verbal and written communication and networking skills to work with upper management and customers
Passionate, high-energy, self-starting team player who achieves goals and strives for continuous improvement
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment
Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers and customers (internal and external)

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance

Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
