We are Raytheon Missile & Defense (RMD) and we design, develop, integrate, test and produce missile systems for critical requirements, including air-to-air, strike, surface Navy air defense, land combat missiles, guided projectiles, exoatmospheric kill vehicles, and direct energy weapons.

The Systems Integration & Test Directorate at RMD is responsible for the development and deployment of product test architectures, test environments and capabilities, integration and test execution for our products from design through manufacturing. The vision of Systems Integration & Test is to have the end in mind and drive predictable integration and test execution to fulfill our customers missions.

The Systems Integration & Test Weapons & Platform Center (W&PC) is currently searching for a Department Lead to manage a product integration and test department. This department leader will lead a team of approximately 150+ engineers tasked with responsibility for a broad range of technical engineering leadership support for the department and center. These include oversight at development gate reviews, Consent to Ship (CTS), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and other events, which ensure the integrity of the design, integration, verification and test processes. The department is responsible for integration and test execution, which result in successful completion of test events at all levels of system integration including lab, platform, system verification and qualification, field / range test and associated analysis of test data.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

The position is located in Tucson Arizona with responsibilities to lead and manage integration, verification and field-test activities including the following:

  • Engage with programs to ensure proper engineering rigor throughout the product life cycle, with specific emphasis on integration and verification test environments, processes and execution tasks.
  • Collaborate across domains and with directorate test architects to define optimum test strategies for assigned programs.
  • Support proposals, review basis of estimates (BOEs) and prepare reviews in support of W&PC tasks.
  • Continuous improvement and enhancement of W&PC processes to achieve cycle time and cost reductions.
  • Collaborate with domain Chief Technologist in the resolution of issues, technical resource development and capability roadmaps.
  • Develop partnerships across RMS Engineering, Raytheon Technologies, industry, and academia to facilitate strategic capability development. Support business needs through appropriate hiring and staffing.
  • Ensure appropriate staff development through effective performance management including goal setting, career development, training, developmental task assignments, and ratings.
  • Provide effective guidance, coaching and leadership to Section Leads for effective execution of the design and development process. Support leadership alignment to define and achieve the strategic vision for W&PC and the Systems Integration & Test organization.
  • Champion respect, ethics and diversity initiatives within the organization.
Qualifications you must have:

B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Math or other related engineering discipline. Twelve (12) years related experience with three or more of the following areas:
  • Experience with requirements development or testing
  • Test environment integration and verification experience
  • Experience supporting Field test support activities
  • Experience with Test architecture development
  • Experience with Product test architecture deployment
  • Experience with Hardware/Software test
  • Recent work history in a technical leadership role with direct reports and/or managing multiple programs/projects.
  • Recent applied work experience in the design lifecycle, integration, test and/or analysis of complex technology systems. US Citizenship required.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Multi-disciplined engineering background providing knowledge of related technologies and products; electronics, firmware, mechanical, software and systems engineering

  • Experience in developing and/or testing missile components
  • Understanding of EV metrics (CPI, SPI, TCPI, BAC, EAC, LRE, etc.)
  • Experience in risk and opportunity management
  • Top Secret Security clearance
