Job Description

Reporting to the Director Maneuver, SOF and Air-to-Ground Weapons, this leader will be responsible for coordinating, planning and executing Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) activities with the Army aviation and missiles communities in particular the Huntsville and Fort Rucker customer with a purpose to grow and sustain the business pipeline. He/She will be responsible for Customer Focused Marketing (CFM) efforts and annual bookings ranging from $250 million to over $1 Billion. In addition, the selected leader will participate on capture teams, provide support to the Program Area Director (PAD), Capture Leader and pursuit teams.

This leader will serve as the RMD subject matter expert on the United States Armys Future Vertical Lift Cross Functional Team (FVL CFT) requirements, capabilities and solutions. He/She will be accountable for ensuring the business growth and capture efforts aligns with the customer care-abouts, utilize Price-To-Win strategies, and align with the Raytheon internal gate process. This leader will lead the Raytheon FVL strategy for the RMD pipeline growth and provide expert support to pursuits around the world.

The FVL and Air-to-Ground RC lead will build collaborative relationships working across the Raytheon enterprise to ensure solutions for modernization are integrated while maximizing the benefit of Raytheon Technologies investments. This leader will interface directly with the customer community and serve as the voice of the customer internal to company management. He/she will be responsible for direct coordination with the all Raytheon Technologies businesses to present a single face to the customer. This leader will be the subject matter expert for the all FVL-related Raytheon Missile Defense products to the customer and will serve as the leader for all associated actions, opportunities with Army aviation customers stationed at Redstone Arsenal and Fort Rucker which include: FVL CFT, PEO Aviation, PEO Missiles and Space, and Army Aviation Center of Excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop, identify and assess new business opportunities needed to achieve annual revenue generation and growth objectives.
  • As Raytheon R&C lead, represent the Close Combat Systems PAD in the pursuit of Long Range Precision Munition (LRPM), LOGIR, and other air-to-ground efforts shaping requirements, providing marketing support, and building customer rapport.
  • Support the SHORAD/Emerging Programs Director at MSHORAD PAD with the Air Launched Effects (ALE) pursuit by shaping requirements, providing market support and building customer and partner rapport.
  • Meet or exceed key revenue targets, and build relationships that enable marketing efforts that result in new business; responsible for Customer Focused Marketing (CFM) efforts and annual bookings ranging from $250 million to over $1 Billion.
  • Serve as RMD RC customer account manager for the US Armys Future Vertical Lift Cross Functional Team at Redstone Arsenal. This 2 Star billet significantly influences Army FVL priorities for the current and future force. Represent RMD in the internal Raytheon FVL CFT working group.
  • Serve as RMD RC customer account manager for both PEO Aviation and PEO Missiles and Space. Both customers are pursing Army solutions to modernize the lethality of the Armys future aviation platforms. Gain insights into Army aviation modernization and help shape requirements and capabilities.
  • Serve as RMD RC customer account manager for the US Armys Aviation Center or Excellence. In concert with FVL CFT, this command is responsible for developing requirements of the Armys aviation force.
  • Serve as RMD RC customer account manager for the Armys Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC), keeping abreast of AvMC Science and Technology interests impacting RMD equities and products.
  • Build customer intimacy by understanding priorities, technical road maps, and the competitive landscape.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of a prioritized strategy that focuses on closing pursuits impacting the current plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Coordinate and manage New Business Initiatives (NBI) funds, capture/gate activities, program performance reviews, and technical and customer briefings
  • Provide thought leadership, innovation, and creativity in developing high quality solutions to meet customer objectives.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to all customer requests for information and prioritize follow on level of effort.
  • Participate in Program Management Reviews and other forums where the Company and the Customers interface to ensure identification of issues and priorities are vetted.
  • Mentor the product line managers, capture managers, and other members of the RC cross-enterprise toward identifying and resolving issues affecting Company-Customer relationships and business execution.
  • Manage special projects, trade show planning collaboration, contact plans, and interface with Communications on Market Messaging to achieve business area goals.
  • Participate and lead Capture Color Teams.
Qualifications you must have:
  • US Citizenship required
  • Current Active US DOD Secret Clearance
  • 10 + years experience in government, defense, aerospace or related industry with extensive experience/expertise
  • Subject matter expert on military rotary-wing aircraft
  • Familiarity with emerging Army concepts including the capabilities and employment of Scout/Attack and Assault helicopters.
  • Experience in Requirements Development, Acquisition, Engineering or similar areas.
  • Experience with DoD and Department of the Army Policies and processes.
  • Bachelors Degree



Qualifications we value:
  • Management experience in Army requirements, resourcing and acquisitions processes.
  • Technical and Operational Subject Matter Expert in Army Aviation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the various Huntsville and Fort Rucker customers.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Masters Degree or graduate level Professional Military Education equivalent
  • Experience on the Joint Staff or at Headquarters, Department of the Army.
  • Well versed in MS Word, Power Point, Excel and MS Project.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to communicate directly and effectively with key decision makers
  • Firm understanding and working knowledge of the US Government Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution (PPBE) process.
  • Established relations with key leaders at Redstone Arsenal and Fort Rucker
  • Intimately familiarity with aircraft weapons systems and integration into the airframe through a variety of launchers.
