Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) for an Engineering Lead of our Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) Design Team within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing a group of skilled MMIC design engineers that are developing the next generation of gallium arsenide (GaAs) and gallium nitride (GaN) MMICs in support of Raytheon Technologies business pursuits. In addition, the Section Lead will work with the MMIC Layout and Modeling Section to develop and maintain the tools and hardware required to advance our computer aided design (CAD) infrastructure. A deep understanding of MMIC design tools, design flow and the peer review process are required for this position. The ideal candidate will have experience in MMIC design, preferably in GaAs or GaN, with a solid understanding of microwave engineering and field effect transistor operation.

The candidate will be expected to direct group members based on business priorities, and will be the main interface to the various Engineering and Operations teams to maintain situational awareness of what those priorities are. The candidate will provide support on technical tasks and allocate resources as needed. AMS is looking for a dynamic individual with a solid track record of team leadership, technical acumen, and exhibited emotional intelligence to lead our highly capable team to meet the needs of a very innovative business.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Lead process qualification of new deposition and strip tools
  • Work in cross-functional teams as a functional leader to resolve process issues
  • Support development needs in deposition to enable the realization of technology roadmaps

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for an additional two years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • BS in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience using microwave industry design tools such as ADS, HFSS, Sonnet and Systemvue
  • Experience leading teams and/or projects
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering curriculum
  • Knowledge of III-V compound semiconductor devices particularly Gallium Nitride and Gallium Arsenide
  • Expert understanding of thin film metallurgy and deposition processes and equipment
  • Familiarity with Workstream or other Manufacturing Execution System
  • Experience with transitioning semiconductor tools and processes to a production environment
  • Experience in design of experiments and use of statistical data analysis and SPC
  • Experience leading and coordinating project work in a team environment
  • Experience creating, documenting, maintaining and approving work instructions
  • Excellent organization
  • Excellent communication skills ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
