Responsible for strategic organizational leadership and tactical management of a world class engineering team providing design, analysis, development, integration and characterization of antenna products including phased array, shaped beam and multi-beam antenna systems within the LM SSC RF Payload Center of Excellence. Position responsibilities include staffing, antenna design process oversight, development of proposal concepts and estimation, design execution and product integrity, design verification, production support and program execution including technical, cost and schedule performance of spaceflight antenna technology developments and products incorporating electrical and mechanical disciplines. Strong emphasis on setting the strategic direction for the organization, leading definition and implementation of affordability, error prevention, and common design initiatives supporting program performance and mission success. Responsible for Subcontract technical supervision and product certification. Support Commercial, Civil and Government programs. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance is required.

Responsibility may also include Cost Account Management for a multi-discipline product team, over the product development and delivery cycle, in addition to functional management duties. Responsible for manpower and material planning, schedule milestone planning, earned value reporting and variance analysis, in addition to project technical execution.

Additional duties include establishing individual performance commitments, developing written performance appraisals, and performing salary planning for all badged employees. Also, lead the end-to-end hiring process, including requisition creation and management, interview coordination, and candidate evaluation and selection, determine training requirements, and assure personal and workforce compliance with all LM policies

Basic Qualifications
1. Minimum BS degree in Engineering
2. Minimum 5 years of demonstrated successful project leadership skills directing technically diverse groups of individuals towards a common goal
3. Minimum 12 years overall technical and/or leadership experience in antenna design, development, anomaly troubleshooting, and production of hardware for Space Flight payloads
4. Knowledge and proficiency with electrical and/or mechanical antenna design, fabrication, and test for high gain, isolation, and RF power breakdown control. Experience in the architecture, beam location and coverage optimization, structural design, performance evaluation, and system validation of Antenna systems.
5. Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication, administrative, and presentation skills
6. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead the definition and implementation of DFx (Design for x) initiatives (e.g. producibility, affordability, etc.), design escape prevention, and common product insertion
7. Demonstrated leadership in driving technical issues/challenges to closure
8. Demonstrated ability to drive technology investment and development resulting in new products/business opportunities
9. Experience with cost account management
10. Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
11. Willingness to travel for vendor survey/selection/oversight

Desired skills
1. Demonstrated ability to manage buy-by-the-drink resources
2. Demonstrated ability to identify and develop technical training to position employees to successfully meet the needs of the business
3. Certified as Green Belt or Black Belt
4. Depth of knowledge with Payload Engineering Processes and Tools
5. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product road maps that are aligned to RFCOE strategy and Program needs.
6. Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives in technical knowledge management
7. MS, MBA, or PhD is preferred
8. Current TS/SCI clearance
9. Working knowledge of LMSSC Command Media
