The Automation Systems Integration (ASI) Team provides complex automation, as well as digital support systems to help factories meet cost, quality and schedule goals.

Position Overview:
Within the ASI team the Ignition Developer Engineer is responsible for designing and developing complex SCADA, MES and PC based systems for application in industrial control systems. Software developed will include SQL based data collection and reporting systems, custom system design and programming of SCADA and MES software. They will also be responsible for increasing the knowledge and experience of junior programmers.

This position can be Sr. Industrial Software Engineer II or Principal Industrial Software Engineer depending on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop HMI, MES, and SCADA systems built around the Ignition platform
  • Design and develop within multiple technologies, including but not limited to:
    • Data historians (OSI PI, Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian, etc.)
    • Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
    • Custom applications (C#, .NET, etc.)
  • Develop and configure interfaces with third-party software tools such as OPC servers
  • Provide technical guidance during establishment of business requirements

Position Requirements:
Sr. Ignition Developer Engineer II
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Engineering, Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of related experience or Masters Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Engineering, or related field and four (4) years of related experience
  • Experience developing applications in Ignition (by Inductive Automation)
  • Experience developing industrial SCADA/MES systems
  • U.S Citizenship is required

Principal Ignition Developer Engineer
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Engineering, Engineering, or related field and eight (8) years of related experience or Masters Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of related experience
  • Experience developing applications in Ignition (by Inductive Automation)
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience using various industrial SCADA/MES packages
  • U.S Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:
  • Ignition Core or Gold Certified
  • Experience with High level language programming for a variety of applications, i.e., .NET, Java, Python, C, C++, etc.
  • Understanding of automation control systems including PLCs
  • Experience with:
    • .NET framework
    • HTML 5
    • Python
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • HTTP and/or MQTT
    • Agile and/or Scrum
  • High proficiency in commonly used industrial protocols including Ethernet/IP, CIP, and TCP/IP
  • Technical experience supporting factory operations and overall manufacturing knowledge
  • Strong project management and documentation skills
  • Six Sigma and / or Lean certification / training
  • Current DOD Security Clearance
