Job Summary:
Whole Life Engineering is conducting search for a talented Sr. Human Systems Integration Specialist to join our team based in Woburn, MA.

Job Responsibilities:
As a Sr. Human Systems Integration (HSI) Engineer, you will be involved in aspects of the system design, development, and sustainment, including the following:

  • Developing HSI requirements for the system
  • HSI Analysis on the systems in support of the design team
  • Collaborating with engineers of various disciplines to ensure the end users needs are met
  • Occasional public speaking

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Through the product development stage, you will provide continuous assessment and input to the design changes that arise. In addition, youll be involved in guiding engineering changes which will ensure the integrity of the human performance (operator, maintainer and sustainment) of the integrated system and personnel.

This position can either be a Grade P3 or Grade P4 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

At a P3 grade, an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience may be considered for this role. A PhD can account for 5 years experience as required for this role.

At a P4 grade, an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience may be considered for this role.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: BS in a STEM discipline or BA in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Chemistry
Employment Experience:
  • 5+ years experience related to Human Factors and/or Human Systems Integration
  • Experience with Human Factors and/or Human Systems Integration in system or product design, development or sustainment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

  • 8 years Human Systems Integration experience with hardware.
  • Experience with Human Systems Integration/Human Factors Engineering on programs involving the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and/or other Government agencies (FAA, NASA, etc.)
  • Experience with military systems and human systems Integration design procedures and standards including MIL-STD-1472 and MIL-HDBK-46855.
  • Knowledge of design criteria for control panel layout; anthropometry; workspace layout, illumination & noise; equipment labeling; design-for-maintainability; human safety; and user-computer interface design.
  • Proficiency and experience in all domains of HSI: Manpower, Personnel, Training, Human Factors Engineering, Occupational Health, Survivability, Habitability, and Environment.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with the Department of Defense Acquisition System.
  • Board Certified Ergonomist or HSI Professional
  • Knowledge of solid modeling tools (e.g., Jack, Catia, ProE, SolidWorks, Santos)
  • Former active duty or reserve military experience
  • Earned value management experience
  • Ability to plan, implement, document, and present the results of technical military system HSI design assessments.
  • Existing Secret or Top Secret Clearance
