We are part of the Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics (AXG) Organization that helps shape future platforms and software that is used by HPC customers on the data center to solve the world's most puzzling problems. This team is responsible for engaging internally and externally to create a solution desired by our customers to optimize the platform, software, and tools to perform best on Intel architecture.

The Technical Computing Engineering team within AXG is seeking a motivated HPC SW engineer who will be a key contributor to the design and development of next generation automation framework to lead Intel's performance leadership into the new ExaScale era.


  • The framework is intended for cluster-level HPC apps that run on both CPU and GPU.

  • One of the goals of this framework is to enable detailed data collection that can be used to characterize, compare, and analyze apps across systems.

  • The data collected can be used for architectural analysis, improve tools, and guide performance optimizations.

  • In this role, you will be part of a highly dynamic technical team to develop transformative methods and tools to automate HPC workload benchmarking across Intel and competitive platforms.

  • You will have the opportunity to grow by exploiting latest software engineering and machine learning technology and working closely with vertical application segment experts, HPC performance experts, performance tool experts, CPU architects, and GPU architects. Your efforts will enable us to ensure performance leadership in HPC domain.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience/OR a Master's degree with 3+ years experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Candidates must have experience in the following areas:

  • C/C++ development

  • Python scripting

  • Demonstrated experience in HPC cluster workload performance optimization spanning multiple workloads

  • Demonstrated leadership/expertise in numerical analysis, workload code optimization and workload debugging

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Domain experience in one/more application domains

  • GPU performance optimization - OpenCL

  • Machine Learning/data science

  • HPC workload benchmarking experience

  • Workload automation capabilities

  • Familiarity with Linux Operating System

  • Web: Python-Flask, JavaScript, HTML, MongoDB familiarity
