Job Summary:
The Lab Lead will work closely with Lab Operation Managers, Technical Lab Leads, Engineering Staff and Technicians within the RF Products team to ensure that labs are running within established industry and audit guidelines.


This position works closely with all levels of leadership in multiple organizations as well as managing lab utilization across various projects. As a member of the team, this position will lead day-to-day operation requirements, with particular focus on compliance and improvement. The Lab Lead will be encouraged to look for new methods to succinctly accomplish all tasks while maintaining a highly collaborative and transparent environment necessary to integrate the functional responsibilities in tandem with lab demands.

In partnership with the team members of the lab and the department leadership, the Lab Lead owns the quality and performance of the Electrical Products Team Engineering Labs. Audits may include but are not limited to: CAM, Environmental Health and Safety, Security, Foreign Object Debris, 7S, ELOEs, and DCMA / Customer.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Holds primary accountability and custodianship for lab security structure and ensuring security practices and processes are enforced
  • Maintains and improves the lab access list and training matrices ensuring all personnel entering the labs are properly trained and cleared
  • Implement company policies and practices to ensure compliance and provide a safe and secure environment
  • Review and manage available lab equipment and ensure that appropriate equipment is available for future product needs
  • A proactive role in developing, understanding and implementing common lab processes, tools, templates and metrics
  • Timely communicates successes, issues, and opportunities for improvement to team members and management
  • Ensure RMD and Customer property is properly tracked and managed
  • Lead by example by being a champion of respect, diversity and inclusion, and ethical conduct within the organization
  • Assist with customer and employee required soldering and mechanical assembly rework as needed


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in STEM or equivalent, may accept 8 years of experience in leiu of a degree
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience managing compliance and process in an engineering lab

Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience with metrology, chemical handling, and property control requirements and processes
  • Experience with cost and schedule generation/reporting and knowledge of capital/facilities/expense management tools
  • J-STD-001 Certified
  • Possess strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Possess exemplary oral communication and interpersonal/human relations skills
  • Have situational awareness, strong emotional intelligence, and be able to effectively work multiple projects simultaneously with diverse groups and customers
  • Leadership skills, including willingness to make decisions and embrace change
  • Defense Security Services NISPOM
  • ISO / LEAN regulations, as well as environmental health and safety practices
  • Experience developing solutions and maintaining audit readiness procedures and goals for an organization
