Job Summary:

The Power and Electronic Systems Department is (PESD) seeking experienced electrical engineers with a knowledge of semiconductor physics and solid state microwave devices and measurement techniques. In addition, you must be knowledgeable in RF, millimeter, and microwave test techniques.

The Power and Electronic Systems Department - PESD - is responsible for design engineering including the following areas:
  • Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, Generators
  • Power Conversion - AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise Controls
  • Power Distribution - Ground, Air, Shipboard, and Space, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant Systems
  • Power Sub-System Design - Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress Analyses
  • Control Systems Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation Algorithms
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Working closely with a team of engineers to develop and test designs based on system performance and operational specifications.
  • Up to 50% travel may be required. (CONUS)
  • Designing and develop test plans and lead engineers and technicians through test and measurement tasks.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 5+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with microwave modeling and simulation software
  • Hands-on experience with RF, millimeter, and microwave test techniques.
  • Experience with microwave amplifiers and filter design
  • Experience generating technical documentation and reports
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience with Failure Review Boards (FRB) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system components
  • Experience interfacing with procurement and manufacturing as well as external suppliers to ensure proper implementation of product designs
  • Existing active DoD security clearance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
