Job Summary:
CORE is the Raytheon Technologies (RTX) operating system built upon the legacy of Lean and 6Sigma practices and is fundamental to how the company executes all business objectives. The new CORE operating system unifies business units and functions across the company with a common language and methodology. The CORE operating system assesses an organizations maturity against a standard framework that tells us What good looks like. It then pinpoints the most critical areas to improve and provides a suite of improvement methods and a corps of employees trained to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is an execution-focused role to maintain the Operating system processes, especially Domain process maturity and Goal alignment. CORE OS has carved the RMD organization into 116 domains and several hundred sub-domains. This role will be responsible for maintaining the infrastructure of the domains and ensuring the domains are being assessed and matured per the new RTX policy GCP-27.

These maturity assessments will help the organization at the grassroots level drive continuous improvement in its people, technology and process capabilities. Domain management entails making sure the annual process and its calendar are maintained, data pertaining to the domains is captured and the maturity reported as a Key Performance Indicator to RTX corporate. This role monitors the KPI's associated with each domain and is responsible for addressing any lack of progress in domains (improvement projects) and escalating the need for action.

This position can be located in either our Arizona (Tucson) facility, or Tewksbury (Massachusetts) facility or may be performed remotely with ability to travel 10-15% of time

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • POC for all CORE domain-related inquiries across RMD
  • Maintain data and implement COSMIC tool for Domain Assessments
  • Continuously improve and automate domain processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Interface with CORE Functional Leads and CORE Mission Area Leads on domain maintenance and improvement opportunities within domains.
  • Train and or coach the organization (especially Focal) on performing Domain Assessments
  • Develop skill with CORE methods and tools to enable improvement of process maturity via improvement projects.
  • Help with training and follow up on Goal Alignment sessions within the domains. Adapt the domain structure per the changes of the organization.
  • Rally the workforce in pursuit of the pillars of CORE (Goal Alignment, Process Maturity, Problem Solving, Capability Development and a Lean Culture).

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree in STEM or Business-related field
  • 10 years relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding of Lean and 6Sigma or other continuous improvement practices
  • CORE professional, Green Belt, PMP/PMX or other equivalent certification
  • Understanding of business processes, process management & KPIs
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work across the organization with proven communication skills
  • Strategic thinker oriented toward achieving results through data-based decision making
  • Ability to navigate MS Office suite
Qualifications We Value:
  • Expert/Black Belt or equivalent certification
  • Experience in defense industry and knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Proficiency in Excel/Access/Power BI
  • Experience training and coaching Lean and 6Sigma methods & tools
