Job Description

A Sort Test Technology Development (STTD) probing development engineer owns developing and qualifying the sort tooling technologies and the probing process within the sort module to meet the key technical sort requirements for new assembly programs and fab process nodes. This entails characterizing the critical probing technology fundamental performance parameters in a lab environment and within the sort module, conducting failure analysis, determining tooling or process limitations; developing a solution within the sort module or with the sort tooling suppliers to achieve a more robust probing architecture and probing process. In addition, the engineer owns developing and qualifying the sort probing process in combination with the sort tooling technology and transferring to the virtual factory (VF) and assure the sort tooling and process is robust as it ramps in production.

Responsibilities include technology research, failure analysis, lab and module architecture and process characterization and optimization, development of test strategies; determining test parameters, specify tests to be performed, conducting design review, designing and debugging test/fixtures resolving design and implementation issues, meeting production quality and reliability requirements and supplier technical management.
As a team member within the STTD organization, will partner with other organizations within LTD, ATTD, GSC and STTD to develop the sort interface tooling and test module process.

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences .

Minimum qualifications:

-Candidate must possess a Master's degree +6 months of relevant experience or PhD +1 years relevant technical experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related discipline.

Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by 03/2022
