Employees of the Internet of Things Solutions Group (IOTG) have an exciting opportunity before them: To grow Intel's leadership position in the rapidly evolving IoT market by delivering the best silicon, software and services that meet a wide range of customer requirements - from Intel Xeon to Intel Core. The team utilizes assets from across all of Intel in such areas as industrial automation, retail, automobiles, and aerospace. The IoTG team is dedicated to helping Intel drive the next major growth inflection through productivity and new business models that are emerging because of IoT.

We are searching for a Communication Solutions Engineer to join our team. Lead the Telecommunication ecosystem, customers, System Integrators, or other 3rd parties to characterize a customer business problem that can be solved with an IoT solution. The Communication Solutions Engineer will work with the end-user to create pull for the IoT solution by providing a unique insight into the technology that can most optimally solve the business need and set expectations for cost, features, and schedule.

You will be responsible for defining the Solution Architecture Specification and implementing the solution for our Customers and Partners, generating Reference Implementations for Communications.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education:

MS, PhD in Computer Science, or related fields with overall experience of 7+ years.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience working with customers and deployment configuration
  • 7+ years of experience with complete end to end deployments of 5G network architecture including - Open RAN (Radio Access Network) architecture, 5G core and Edge computing
  • 7+ years of experience in Python, Java, and C++
  • 7+ years of experience working with heterogeneous data sources in Embedded/Edge environment.
  • 7+ years of experience of IoT, and Edge computing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in one or more of the following:

  • Networking standards and protocols 3GPP (LTE, 5G NR), IEEE (Wi-Fi), and ETSI (MEC)
  • Virtualization, Container
  • Network functions (DNS, DHCP, UPF, IPSec, Firewall, etc.),
  • L1/L2/L3 layers of 5G Radio protocol layers
  • LTE/5G RAN eNodeB/gNB design
  • V-RAN, Network Synchronization, System modelling
  • Network function virtualization
  • Orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes) and microservices
  • Edge platform frameworks, Smart Edge, OpenNess
  • Manageability
  • OS: Linux
