Job Description

The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.

As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As a Solid State Drive SSD Quality and Reliability Test Development Engineer, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK hynix.

This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK hynix.

The Solid State Drive SSD Quality and Reliability Test Development Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Identify failures and research test process/methodologies to enhance coverage, performance and quality and reliability of next generation of 3DNAND SSD technologies.

  • Develop infrastructure and tool for test methodologies and reporting quality metrics to ensure strategic failure analysis capabilities for future technologies and products.

  • Enable partner teams to identify issues in design, code, tests, or processes that could affect quality, and recommend corrective action to prevent recurrence of problems. Perform debug and/or test process monitoring and improvement, allowing for faster time to root cause issues.

  • Proliferate training and documentation on debug and/or test methodologies across sites.

  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed.


Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/ or work experience. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.

Minimum 1+ years of experience at the BS level in the following areas:

  • Computer Architecture/NAND/DRAM/SRAM and Operating System

  • working experience in C/C++, Python and/or other programming or scripting languages,

  • experience in the use of software development tools such as IDE, source control under Windows and Linux environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.

Minimum 6+ months of experience in the following areas:

  • Working experience in SSD System validation, Semiconductor devices/processes and Circuit design/Validation, or NAND Flash or other memory technology validation

  • Experience in NVMe/PCIe protocols

  • Experience in serial protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, or TA

  • SQL database

  • Scripting language such as Perl, Python

  • Statistical analysis
