Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join the Ethernet Products Group (EPG) within our larger Data Platforms Group (DPG) as a Software Validation Engineer. Join a creative team of engineers who deliver software for the Intel portfolio of networking adapters. We are seeking an expert Software Validation Engineer to deliver performance testing for the latest Intel networking controllers including emerging smart NIC adapters.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for evaluating performance characteristics for networking devices, identifying and characterizing performance issues and measuring and assessing competitive performance
  • Reviewing and analyzing requirement documents, architecture specifications, etc. to understand the product
  • Working with marketing and architecture teams to understand the scalability and performance aspects and customer use cases
  • Coordinating and driving strategy for performance testing
  • Developing enhanced automation strategy, applying state of the art automation technology to automate testcases, execute test plans, and automate debug and triage
  • Managing and guiding remote team members to get test plan defined and executed according to plan as well as providing technical guidance
  • Independently being able to manage and coordinate execution and planning with other BU counterparts at Intel

The Data Platforms Group drives new products technologies from high-end co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for enterprise and the cloud as well as solutions for big data and intelligent devices. The group is a worldwide organization that develops the products and technologies that power 9 of every 10 servers sold worldwide.


Candidates must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed below would be obtained through a combination of Industry job relevant experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research

Education Requirement

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in validation and debug of software
  • 4+ years of experience in software development concept
  • 4+ years of experience with scripting languages (Python, etc)
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing software validation or testing project
  • 1+ years of experience in various performance testing tools such as: ( iperf, netperf, Ixia, etc.)

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or higher
  • Experience in network performance and network protocols Experience with DPDK programmable networking devices
  • Experience with software testing methodology with performance testing experience
