The documentation engineering team is responsible for creating world-class tools and framework-level support for the documentation workflows in Xcode, Swift Playgrounds, and the developer website.

As a manager on this team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of key applications and integrations that developers and Apple engineers will use every day.

You will bring engineering and operational excellence to our documentation platform. We have a passion for high quality, well designed systems with scale in mind. Key Qualifications

• Ability to understand problems and designs at a very low level, with the expectation to contribute to and challenge decisions related to architecture, development, and operational processes
• Experience working with: Ruby, Cassandra, SQL Databases, Kafka, Solr and similar technologies in production contexts at scale
• A learning attitude to continuously improve self, team and the organization
• Experience shipping high quality user facing products and features
• Strong leadership skills with experience leading cross functional projects which have had tangible impact to the direction of an organization
• Excellent communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Ability to make right trade-off choices when dealing with functional complexity, conflicting priorities and aggressive schedules
• Ability to represent the team and remove hurdles so that each one of the team members operate at the highest level of efficiency and productivity
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience leading engineering teams or leading/designing complex software engineering projects

- Participate in product development discussions and map functional requirements to a technical design and a project schedule
- Have technical discussions with team members to agree on product scope and delivery schedules
- Track delivery schedule and related dependencies
- Write detailed architecture and design proposals
- Communicate with external teams on various aspects such as technical design, project schedule, project status
- Participate in design and code reviews produced by engineers
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and processes- Grow team by hiring great and diverse engineers
- Provide growth opportunities by mentoring / coaching engineers in the team

Education & Experience

BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics (or equivalent experience)
