Job Description

The Software Engineer/Windows Programmer in the Electronic Systems Integration Division (ESID) will design, develop, and support software for mission-critical systems on military platforms. ESID is predominantly focused on the research, development, design, and application of software supporting a variety of fielded military applications with emphasis on Electronic Warfare (EW) and avionics systems. The Software Engineer and Windows Programmer will work on a mid-sized team of engineers executing ongoing sponsored programs to sustain EW systems deployed on Department of Defense (DoD) platforms.


  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers to specify high-level software requirements
  • Document software requirements and design implementations
  • Develop executable software using approved processes and coding standards for military applications including Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, and military data links
  • Develop and present technical presentations for internal peer reviews and sponsor design reviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical fields.

Research Engineer/Scientist II

  • A Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical fields.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows Programming using C++ and C#
  • Experience developing and conducting technical presentations

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in developing software for military systems
  • Experience in several programming languages and software applications such as C++, C#, GUI, MFC, WinForms, WPF/XAML, MVC, MVVM, SQL, XML/XSD, MSBuild, MSTest, NUnit
  • Experience leading small to mid-sized technical tasks and/or teams
  • Active SECRET clearance

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
