Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Internet of Things (IoTG) as a Software Engineer!

The Intel Movidius Team have been at the forefront of designing and delivering solutions for exciting new machine vision and Edge AI markets and have delivered the successful Myriad Vision Processing Unit VPU processors and Neural Compute Stick Programs. We continue to work on innovative Deep Learning and Computer Vision SoC designs resulting in exciting opportunities for embedded software engineers. The Vision Processing Unit VPU Software team are responsible for delivering embedded Software and Firmware for these SoC developments.

The team is involved in exciting and challenging projects from concept through architecture into design and finally debug and release of new silicon and software products. You will be involved in all phases of projects from presilicon and early prototyping to final customer delivery. In order to deliver these projects and programs we need engineers capable of working in a dynamic multidisciplinary team environment.

As an Embedded Software Engineer you will be responsible for developing software stacks for the VPU processors. As well as developing custom VPU software you may also be responsible for integrating and bring up of network and vision stacks and other 3rd party stacks. The role requires familiarity and experience in debugging low level components in deeply multithreaded environments. The VPU Software team are part of a global working environment with colleagues located around the globe Joining us means joining a dynamic team at a company that has established a reputation for innovation.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with team + dependent teams to resolve bugs and implement production ready code to satisfy platform requirements.
  • Reviewing/providing feedback on other team members code.
  • Participating in scrum meetings to plan, scope and implement work; ensuring tickets are kept up to date with current status.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education:

Bachelors in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years hands on coding experience in modern C/C++ programming language
  • 2+ years DSP embedded RTOS or bare metal coding and debugging experience
  • 2+ years of experience with FPGA, simulation, or emulation pre-silicon environments
  • 2+ years of numerical coding experience in mixed precision such as float16 bfloat16 int8 and other models
  • 2+ years of development experience in a Linux environment
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Deep learning layer implementation experience
  • Modern compiler architecture and backend coding experience
  • Host side GPU shader workload memory management and/or scheduler experience
