Job Description

High performance computing (HPC) clusters are some of the most demanding computing environments running applications to help predict weather, model vehicle interactions, and innovative ways to treat cancers, to name a few.  These environments need to remain tuned for their peak performance.  Intel Cluster Checker is a tool developed to evaluate, analyze, and report issues with these highly tuned and specific environments.

Intel is seeking an experienced software engineer to participate in the development of this unique and valuable Intel product.  You will leverage your experience and creativity working with C/C++, Python, and other languages.  The preferred candidate will have familiarity with HPC environments, parallel programming techniques, high-bandwidth/low-latency network fabrics, cloud, containers, distributed computing environments, and job and resource management utilities and environments.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school-work/ classes/ research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with six+ years of experience or a Masters degree in the above fields with four+ years of experience in in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or Physics or Software Engineering other related technical discipline.

3 or more years of experience with the following technical skills:

  • Experience with C/C++
  • Developing, and coding complex multi-tiered applications and environments (Linux)
  • Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and technologies
  • Knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns (x86/ network architecture or other)
  • Data modeling experience
  • Modular / flexible coding and programming.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Parallel programming models (MPI, PGAS, OpenCL, OpenMP, )
  • Coding with GPUs
  • Multi-threaded programming
  • Network / fabric API programming
  • HPC Cluster environments and programming
  • Database application development and programming
  • Cloud computing and Linux containers
  • Cluster management environments
  • Functional programming (CLIPS)
  • Cucumber and gherkin experience
