Job Description

We are looking for a motivated technical individual to fill the role of Software Ecosystem Engineer (Platform Enablement). You will be the single point of contact for Linux external Operating System Vendor (OSV) partners for all pre-production hardware delivery and support. To support Intel's enablement goals with our Linux partners, you will manage all pre-production hardware allocation for external OS partners including Red Hat, SUSE, Canonical, Wind River, Oracle, Citrix, Alibaba, and CS2C. This role includes understanding and acting upon Intel's hardware and software roadmaps, working across multiple organizations and BUs, engaging with Client, Server and IoTG Platform Execution Teams, and building on current processes to streamline this effort. You will drive the ordering, tracking, and support of these external systems located in several different geographic locations.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Engage with System Software Engineering (SSE) hardware team to provide forecast and demand of systems and parts, for standard/EPS platforms
  • For non-standard platforms, order all parts necessary to build golden configurations
  • Supervise and drive the building of these systems with BUs and/or SSE lab
  • Facilitate support of OSV systems, as needed, when tickets are filed through appropriate channels
  • Work with BUs (IOTG and DPG) for non-EPS supported systems to manage golden configuration for systems, building systems that will be externally shipped, coordinating external documentation and IFWI, ticketing system for support issues
  • Provide comprehensive weekly updates to OSV partners and OSV Internal Engineering team on status of HW orders
  • Provide yearly roadmap reviews, covering all current and upcoming platforms to external Linux partners

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirement

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of Software Engineering or Program management expertise especially working with Hardware for Operating System development.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience with working on Linux based Operating System, working with internal stakeholders as well as working with an externally facing open-source projects.

Experience to maintain and update detailed schedules with a thorough understanding of dependency management, key milestones, including critical path analysis.
