Job Description

Come join the Fleet and Scale Customer Engineering team within Intel's Data Processing Engineering and Architecture organization.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who can help us aid in scaling capabilities for server customers to enable on-time high-quality launches of Intel server programs, as well as in-Fleet product experiences. You can expect regular, direct customer engagement throughout the development cycle, from initial power-on of customer platforms, through the life of the product in the fleet and will require a Software Architect/Engineer who can come up to speed and learn quickly, is results-oriented, customer-obsessed, and comfortable working in a sometimes ambiguous and fast-paced dynamic environment.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Extending and creating a set of customer-consumable Software used for visibility into system state (IA cores, memory, peripherals, busses, etc.).
  • This software will be used at both component and system levels, including reliability, availability, and serviceability.
  • Provide customers with strategies and solutions using such software to solve in-field and at-scale challenges.
  • Help to define, specify, and drive initiatives and features required from the systems' architecture to enable diagnostics and debug.
  • Solve in production debug issues for customers' server designs via scaled enablement of diagnostic software.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the following areas is required:
  • Programming in Python and C++, Software debug and can create both new codes and review and debug within a complex, large existing codebase.
  • Software architecture development and methodology skills commensurate with architecting and designing Software whose breadth spans from low-level hardware interfacing with application development.
  • Software development and debug solutions for complex high-performance multi-core CPU or equivalent products.
  • Software development experience for Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience in validation or enabling silicon to debug capabilities with expertise in pre-silicon and post-silicon verification/validation processes and challenges.
  • Experience in PC and server systems architecture (IA) at the board and systems level.
  • Have Software best practices, such as requirements gathering/writing and execution, agile, and unit regression testing.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing design patterns, object-oriented programming (OOP), development source control (DSC), service-oriented architecture (SOA), and overall software design methodologies.
  • Experience in scale and distributed systems
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD systems
