Job Summary:

The Software Development Area (SDA) is part of the Engineering Operations department within the Systems Design & Architecture (SD&A) directorate. This SDA Lead Role is vital to maintaining the security and compliance of our Software Development Areas which is essential to the development of Raytheon Missiles and Defense products.

This is a position within the Software Development Area (SDA) Closed Area Team. As a member of the team you will support fellow team members and the SDA Section Lead in all applicable Closed Areas and related functions in direct support of programs.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Becoming a Closed Area Custodian, to provide compliance management support in the areas of Safety, Security and Facilities. Obtaining full knowledge of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Global Security Services (GSS), and RMD Directives relating to Closed Areas.
  • Implementing directives and policies from Security, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and SDA management. Documenting improvements that may further mitigate safety and security risks in Closed Areas.
  • Educating and training users on Security, EHS, and SDA policies and procedures. Coordinating with Program Managers in SDAs to schedule area maintenance, facilities projects and EHS mandates with minimal impact on program deadlines. Working with Program Information Assurance (IA), Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) and Digital Technology (DT) technicians to provide service to programs in the Closed Areas.
  • Working across multiple functions and management levels
Dual Grade req info - This position can be a P1 or a P2, based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position


Qualifications You Must Have:

Experience in one or more of the following:
  • Bachelors/Associates degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Prior work experience in monitoring compliance related to NISPOM, security, facilities, environmental health and safety, or government program regulations
  • Recent experience implementing existing or new policies, instructions or directives in a lab or other technical environment
  • Experience documenting security or tactical improvements and audit findings

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Familiarity with Closed Area policies and procedures
  • Moderate skills in project planning, business management, budgeting, data analysis, and reporting
  • Experience in SharePoint
  • Awareness of project management business systems and related planning software (e.g., MS Project)
  • Proactive, self-motivated, independent worker
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality in a dynamic environment and contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals
  • Flexibility in performing assignments and effective time management skills
  • Must be a team player in a cross-functional environment, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to follow specific, detailed instructions and respond to multiple tasks
  • Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate to prominent scope and complexity. Refer to policies and practices for guidance.

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
