Job Description

Mid/Senior-level Software engineering position assisting with development of data analysis software for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The candidate will work in a team environment with Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS) software developers and analysts to develop software in a rapid prototyping environment. A proven track record utilizing current software development practices and processes is required.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.

Research Engineer/Scientist II

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience in software development
  • .NET software development with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • C# Windows applications
  • Database applications
  • GUI development
  • Rapid prototyping experience
  • Knowledge of BMDS processes, procedures, analysis, and architectures
  • Self-motivated individual who will overcome obstacles and follow tasks to completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field from an accredited college or university
  • Experience performing trade studies or other comparisons of software techniques/tool sets to support architecture decisions
  • Exposure to a wide variety of current programming technologies/tool suites
  • Database, large data sets, data mining, and data analytics techniques
  • Agile development practices

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
