Job Description

We are searching for an energetic and a passionate Power, Performance and Bin-Split Modeling Engineer.

In this position, you will be a member of the Data Center - Server Design Power and Performance (DCD PnP) team in USA. Power and Performance (PnP) team is developing multiple next generation products across Xeon Scalable and Derivatives, including Atom segment. We offer exciting opportunities to develop and lead breakthrough solutions for bin-split, performance, power, and thermals all the way from pathfinding to product Launch. This role provides opportunities to work with senior technical people from Principal Engineers to Fellows on a regular basis.

In this role you will:

  • Drive Xeon product definition and uArch features collaborating with worldwide cross functional teams

  • Bring up Xeon performance model and drive projections and PnP optimizations across TDP ranges

  • Drive workloads definition and new use cases across segments (e.g. Compute, IOT, Storage, Networking)

  • Participate in binning definition and strategy from product performance perspective

  • Drive to maximize power and thermal efficiency to improve product competitiveness

  • Understand and improve circuit robustness and performance based on technology parameters


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must have a PhD degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent and 1+ years of experience with: - OR - a Masters degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent and 3+ years of experience with:

  • SoC power modeling

  • Statistical modeling

  • Processor architecture, micro-architecture, competing architectures

  • Scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Ruby

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with:

  • Common performance benchmarks and workloads

  • Performance modeling simulation
