Job Description

Intel's FPGA and Structured ASIC devices are at the forefront of emerging and established applications, including Cloud and Edge platforms, 5G RAN, ASIC proto, embedded applications, and offload acceleration for AI/deep/machine learning, financial, genomics, database analytics, and memory and storage expansion given their unique attributes of programmability, in-field partial reconfigurability, and fixed-function IPs combined with logic and memory fabrics.

PSG's SOC Engineering team is responsible for delivering ARM-based Hardened Processor Subsystem and Secure Device Manager to all FPGA and Structured ASIC projects. We are seeking an SoC design engineer to help define, execute, and productize future silicon solutions.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the different VLSI teams, including design, verification, backend, firmware, software, package, and post-silicon.

  • Take ownership in technology exploration and SoC integration, including digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits and systems, ESD, and reliability

  • Support digital place-and-route effort, including physical design and timing

  • Drive mixed-signal circuit performance in SoC and provide recommendations

  • Participate in research and pathfinding in SoC and security technologies

  • 3rd party IP technical evaluation and selection.

  • Performance analysis and trade-off

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD with no experience or Master degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience in silicon engineering experience either from their thesis or industrial experience.

  • Experience in analog and/or digital mixed-signal design and have successfully taped-out silicon

Preferred qualifications

  • Process technologies and their implications to SoC PPA

  • Analog/IO/LDO design with hands-on experience on simulation, layout, and validation; and able to guide IP selection during planning and integration during execution

  • Understand digital place-and-route flow including RTL design, verification, timing

  • Prior experience in SoC and security research are desirable
