  • Strong candidates will be able to listen carefully to local teams, synthesize varied perspectives and enable managers/leaders in Boulder and Cupertino to act effectively to build norms and behaviors that will improve the effectiveness and engagement of the Boulder teams.
  • Understanding of Apple culture and Apple processes will be critical in this role, as is the ability to work at and relate to all levels of the company, including executive leadership.

Description

Job

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist engineering leaders in determining what elements of Apple's current culture must be embraced, what must be enhanced and what Boulder may want to introduce. Local culture design will work closely with Apple HR and Apple U to ensure consistency where that's vital and to encourage differences where those should be embraced.
Work with Boulder-based managers and their HR leaders to improve their effectiveness in working with Cupertino - and vice versa.
Help establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the integration and the vitality of the local culture and to report performance against those metrics on a regular basis.
Develop and maintain tools and metrics to provide insight into the characteristics of people and organizations that are more likely to succeed in Boulder.
Build a program for a "warm welcome" for those being hired into or relocating to the office from other Apple locations. The program may include the creation of a guide for prospective hires/relocations to evaluate what makes Apple Boulder special and what may be expected of employees within that culture.
Share lessons and standard methodologies with others in a similar role in distributed offices, especially those in new locations, such as San Diego and Seattle.
Partner with Facilities, Recruiting, Global Mobility, Benefits etc to ensure the office and its needs are being met and communicated to the team.
Engage in local outreach. The role will develop a network of resources in Boulder to enhance employee integration. She or she will assist engineering leaders in developing relationships with local institutions (such as the University of Colorado/Boulder, NCWIT, et al) that may enhance the talent pipeline for the office. When appropriate and approved by Cupertino, assist in community liaison to enhance Apple's stature in the community.
