Job Description

Defines roadmaps to meet requirements, goals and milestones for a new technology process. Defines and establishes flow, procedures, and required equipment to develop new devices or products. Selects and develops material and equipment for the process to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements. Plans and conducts experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle. Drives improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools. Develops strategy to resolve difficult problems and establishes systems to deal with these problems in the future. Trains production/receiving engineers for transfer to high volume manufacturing.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, and/or work experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a Master/ Ph.D. in an Engineering discipline such as Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, Photonics, and 5+ years of skills/experience in the following:
  • Extensive experience in any of the following: Optics, Photonics, SiP, Lasers, or III/V compound.
  • Demonstrate experience of Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with modulators, ring resonators, directional couplers, grating couplers, III-V Lasers, etc.
  • SOI wafers and waveguide based processing for optical interconnects
  • Expertise in process integration and development including Ge based PD and III-V processes
  • Demonstrated experience to work with external and internal partners.
  • Applied research or Product/Process Development experience
