Job Description

Server Firmware Architecture and Design team is looking for an experienced Silicon Architecture Engineer to join their team.

Your responsibilities in this role will be the following:

  • Determines, specifies and evaluates the viability of complex hardware features and structures and ensures that software and hardware designs interface correctly.
  • Designs framework for particular functions.
  • Defines, documents and tests processes for inclusion into technical platforms, subsystem specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves subsystem and/or SoC design weaknesses.
  • Influences the shaping of future products by significantly contributing to the architecture used across design families.
  • Provides multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job

You must possess a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related field with 3+ years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree with 1+ years of experience.

Your experience should be in the following areas:

  • Microprocessor development
  • IA-32 architecture/micro-architecture, microprocessors, and computer system architecture
  • Low-level software programming skills in assembly and/or C
  • Programming languages: Ruby, Perl, Python, C/C++
  • Hardware/Software interfaces, interactions, and debug

Preferred skills that will make you stand out:

  • Validation and/or testing, especially in processor design teams
  •  Pre-Silicon or Post-Silicon debug experience
  • UNIX command-line tools
  • Platform architecture and operating system knowledge
  • CPU power management
