Job Summary:
Missiles and Defense (RMD) is looking for a Shared Services Section Leader in the Digital Analytics & Applications (DAA) directorate in the Digital Technology (DT) organization. This position serves as the Front-Line-Leader for the Business Applications Shared Services team, serving an Agile Release Train (ART) of over 150 individuals working against a portfolio of digital products producing $40M of value annually for the RMD business. Our Product Mode Teams live on the bleeding edge of digital transformation and associated technologies and are chartered to bring RMD into the digital age.

As the Manager for Shared Services, responsibilities include attracting and retaining talent that provides the following services for the Digital Analytics & Applications ART: Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Release Train Engineer (RTE) and Scrum Master Services, Usability Designer and Quality Assurance testing services. This role will focus on the developing the vision and strategy for Shared Services and empowering employees to drive transformational change. The Shared Services Manager will be required to collaborate and align with peers and colleagues to ensure the relentless pursuit to deliver business value and increased velocity is achieved.

The Section Leader will participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and appraisal activities. The successful candidate will ensure that each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Collaborate with the DAA extended leadership team to align on goals and deliver strategies supporting the DAA organization
  • Provide staffing and resource assignments to Product Mode Teams supporting the functions and mission areas
  • Identify personnel training and development opportunities to ensure continuous staff competency growth
  • Ensure personnel embrace core values, and adopt key Agile development principles or practices
  • Work closely with Scrum Masters to identify common themes and impediments across the Product Mode Teams that warrant review and potential changes for continuous improvement
  • Ensure usability and quality assurance is driven into the agile development processes
  • Serve as champion of the DAA Agile Release Train (ART) and provide resources to conduct Program Increment planning events and ceremonies for DAA and other neighboring ARTs

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
  • 8 years of related professional experience with 4+ years of project/program management experience in a cross-functional environment
  • 2+ years of experience leading, coaching, or participating on teams as part of an Agile Release Train (ART) in an enterprise scaled environment (SAFe or similar Agile framework)
  • Advanced understanding of Agile development methodologies and principles

Qualifications We Value:
  • Completed Leading SAFe Training
  • Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE)
  • Demonstrated experience helping derive and communicate business value of solutions proposed and actual value delivered

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
