Come and join a dynamic and challenging team within the Intel Data Center and Artificial Intelligence (AI) group!

DPEA, the Data Products Architecture and Engineering organization, is seeking a server platform validation and debug engineer to join the Xeon Accelerated Performance/ Scalable Performance (AP/SP) Platform Integration and Validation team. This role is responsible for working with platform reference systems and custom systems teams to define, coordinate, and lead the validation of server systems that showcase Intel's newest datacenter products. This position requires a combination of validation engineering (to define and document a system validation plan), integration and validation execution leadership (to direct resources to conduct testing on the system), and system debug leadership. A system validation/debug engineer provides a critical link among the silicon, board, system and ingredient development teams, and the platform integration and validation teams ensuring effective root cause identification and issue resolution. Projects will be varied, including new reference designs for Intel Xeon SP/AP server platforms, high-volume customer designs, and unique one-off customer designs.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Developing and executing validation tasks, such as defining test plans, review requirements coverage, drive test execution, drive debug of issues resolution.

  • Developing test content to cover product requirements accordingly.

  • Participating in product planning and release meetings providing input and decisions.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a positive factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed may be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must have a Master of Science degree in Electrical/Computer/Manufacturing Engineering with 2+ years of industry experience or a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer/Manufacturing Engineering with 4+ years of industry experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in two or more of the following:

  • Experience working to integrate various system components (HW, BIOS, OS, Drivers, etc.) and validate/debug to the requirements for server platforms.

  • Experience in chipset/processor interfaces (PCI Express, UPI, Memory, USB, SAS, etc.) and be able to interpret specifications to assist with debug and test development.

  • Hands-on technical, individual contributor in Silicon development engineering environment in CPU/logic and/or memory products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using Hardware/Debug tools: XDP/ITP, Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, PCI/PCI-e BUS Analyzer.
