Sensor Hub Systems Architect

Client Platform and Silicon Architecture group in CCG is looking for an Always-On Sensor Hub Systems Architect.

Job Summary:

In this role, the Sensor Hub Systems Architect will be responsible for defining features related to overall sensing subsystem (integrated or discrete hub) across the various client platform segments and form factors.

This position requires a strong background in current sensor hub technologies, low-speed IOs, awareness / understanding of emerging technologies and knowledge of ongoing standards efforts.

Engaging with vendors, tracking competition, evaluating solutions and making recommendations for CCG product lines.

Work in a matrixed organization and be responsible for the definition, design, development, and deployment of CCG's future platform and stay engaged through the entire PLC aka from cradle-to-grave.


  • Create functional requirements, Systems Arch Specifications and influence IP/SoC team's decisions by balancing OEM form factor requirements, Intel business needs and cost/feature tradeoffs.

  • Work with power & performance / thermal architects in establishing KPIs and other system targets

  • Engage with 3rd party vendors (jointly with procurement) in the evaluation of sensor and related components and solutions.

  • Work with board team (SDS/RVP) in component selection, layout, among others.

  • Work with validation teams (Pre-Si, Silicon, HVM)


  • Strong communication skills and manage cross-group teams.

  • Work effectively with HW, FW and SW architects internally with partner organizations as well as OSV/OEM partners.

  • Must be results-oriented and willing to quickly ramp up on new technologies and evaluate the user experience impact.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electric Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

  • +5 years industry experience in the areas of sensor hub, sensors, context awareness and related technologies.

  • Must have a strong understanding of embedded systems, RTOS (e.g., Zephyr) and firmware design concepts.

  • Deep understanding of sensors, sensor processing algorithms, applied signal processing, context sensing, and sensor related usages in the scope of PC platforms.

  • Knowledge of Intel ISH (Integrated Sensor Hub) and/or sensor hubs offered by 3rd parties / competition.

  • Knowledge of low speed IOs such as I2C, I3C, SPI.

  • Understanding of Windows, Android, and Linux Operating Systems, as related to sensing and context awareness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electric Engineering, Computer Science or related field will be preferred.

  • Prior experience with prototyping advanced sensor solutions and characterizing workload and power will be preferred.

  • Understanding of UI technologies such as touch, gestures, speech and multi-modal approaches will be a plus.

  • Any experience with small memory footprint neural networks on embedded systems will be a plus.
