About the Group: 

As an integral part of Intels new IDM2.0 strategy, we are establishing Intel Foundry Services, a fully vertical, standalone foundry business, reporting directly to the CEO. IFS will be a world-class foundry business and major provider of US and European-based capacity to serve customers globally. Intel Foundry Services will be differentiated from other Foundry offerings with a combination of leading-edge packaging and process technology, committed capacity in the US and Europe available for customers globally and a world-class IP portfolio that customers can choose from including x86 cores, graphics, media, display, AI, interconnect, fabric and other critical foundational IP, along with Arm and RISC-V ecosystem IPs.  


About the Role 

Intel Foundry Services is looking for insatiably curious and consummate technologist (SoC architect, technical marketing) to own IP roadmap & competitive intelligence. You will become an expert on IFS and competitions product offerings, roadmaps and deeply seeped in semiconductor ecosystem of IP suppliers, tools suppliers, design service partners and customers. Ideal candidate will have deep system level expertise in one of the areas AI Inference, AI Training, Mobile, Networking, Automotive, Networking and experience as a SoC architect or a system architect. You must possess big picture vision, creativity and collaborative mindset as you will need to partner with cross functional team of design service, business development, process technologist and industry channels and be a technical consultant to factory, business development, M&A teams.

  • Map various workload characteristics to silicon and guide product roadmap and technology development 

  • Own IP & technology roadmap in compute, storage, networking, communication and analog mixed signal space 

  • Become expert on competitive roadmaps and product offerings in silicon and packaging technologies  

  • Own device teardown analysis of all segments (HPC, mobile, automotive, RF, AMS etc) 

  • Stay abreast of ecosystem partners roadmaps and influence IFS roadmaps to match partners roadmaps 

  • Stay abreast of technical trends and tie the technical trends to implication for process technology  

  • Create framework to assess the competition and communicate findings to xfn stakeholders 

  • Keep an eye on emerging applications or inflection points

  • Further develop knowledge of silicon process and semiconductor market 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to assess gaps and suggest transformative opportunities 


Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree. 


Minimum Requirements 

  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading to system architect, chip architect, technical marketing engineer or similar role  
  • 2+ years of experience in competitive analysis, technology market segmentation, market outlook, growth drivers, technology transition planning, customer profiling 


Preferred Qualifications 

  • Background in system or SoC architecture, process technology, semiconductor IP, chip design combined with foundry product marketing or product management
