The System Design & Architecture Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). Supporting this mission are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in surveillance, naval and missile defense based radar system design, sonar and undersea sensor system design, integrated air and missile defense systems engineering, command and control/battle management system design, combat system and platform architecture design and integration, software intensive system engineering, cyber solutions and algorithm development for signal processing, tracking and discrimination systems. The Early Warning and Defense Operations Systems (EWDOS) Department supports RMD by providing world class Sensor and Weapon Systems Engineering. Domain Expertise includes Situational Awareness, Network Design, Battle Management, Battlespace Integration and Interoperability Command and Control, Communications, for Domestic and International customers.
The EWDOS Department is looking for talented senior systems engineer with the technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to join a team of engineers that designs and develops world-class Sensor and Weapon systems in our Tewksbury and Andover, MA, locations

Job Description:

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of engineering or related technical discipline
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure design and implementation of complex systems involving network, OS and COTS configuration in a cyber-hardened environment
  • Experience with IT and/or network and system administration including OS configuration
  • Experience working in a small team environment with strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Proven technical analysis data analysis, troubleshooting, identifying root cause and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to develop, document, and maintain processes, methods and tools
  • Proven ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts both verbally and in writing
  • DOD Clearance, or the ability to obtain within 1 year from date of hire
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with operating system configuration for Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and VMWare
  • Experience with information security tools including: anti-virus, Vulnerability Assessment, HIDS/NIDS, host-based or endpoint security solutions, Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and centralized auditing tools
  • Experience with automation tools to support a continuous delivery pipeline
  • Experience with scripting in Python, Ruby or Powershell
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Group Policy Objects and identify and access management best practices
  • Experience with security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies, NIST, DISA (STIGs) and USCYBERCOM
  • Knowledge complex command and control systems involving multiple sensors and effectors
  • Knowledge of Link-16 networking and interfaces
  • Experience with Juniper systems
  • Experience with hyper converged platforms
  • Proven ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex User requirements
  • Experience with Matlab modeling and analysis

Required Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline
