The Cybersecurity, Information Protection, and Hardware Evaluation Research (CIPHER) Laboratory, Command and Control Mission Assurance (C2MA) Division is currently seeking a Senior Researcher for a full time research faculty position in the C2MA Division, Honolulu, HI. This position supports the design, development, testing, fielding and on ongoing technology insertion for critical C2 & C4ISR architectures for various DoD and other government organization sponsors. Along with these duties the position would require management of high visibility national communications infrastructure projects associated with sponsors in the area.  

Job Duties

  • Lead Division Pacific portfolio senior engineering collaboration activities including technical exchange meetings, technology insertion road-mapping, and architecture creation and reviews for Division programs
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Engineers and Scientists in the execution of developing solutions for programs
  • Develop and present technical presentations for internal peer reviews and sponsor design reviews
  • Plan and develop critical C2 infrastructure & C4ISR architectures for DoD sponsors
  • Develop cyber security architectures, models, and frameworks for implementation in cloud, on-premise, and tactical networks
  • Advise on, develop, and implement risk management framework security controls for advanced C2 systems
  • Interact with program sponsors and stakeholders to ensure sponsor satisfaction with research and engineering designs
  • Collaborate with Division leadership and project directors to ensure programs are properly resourced with appropriate technical staff
  • Research and communicate the latest advances in technology knowledge and development across all Division programs
  • Manage Engineering personnel for programs in the Pacific area of responsibility

Travel Requirements

10% - 25% travel

Education & Length of Experience

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate

  • A Masters degree in Computer Science and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Computer Science and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Computer Science and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years working with and developing and managing C4I systems
  • Masters degree
  • Experience in U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Theater of Operations

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
