The System Integration and Test Directorate is responsible for integration, test and validation activities for RMD Programs. System Integration and Test employees provide the expertise to ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques. System Integration and Test employees are involved in all aspects of test including: design-for-test, integration, subsystem and component level testing, and sell-off of RMDs most sophisticated systems and technologies. Our System Engineers work with other RMD Engineering disciplines from development of initial system concepts to product sell-off. We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and test system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final selloff to the customer.

Opportunity currently exists within the Air Defense Systems department in Andover MA for an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Support role in the Patriot Test Facility- Andover (PTF-A). This role is responsible for ensuring that the facility is available and ready to support users in executing their test activities and achieving their test objectives. In addition, the O&M Support role supports supplemental test activities performed off-hours or during the weekends on a scheduled basis, depending on customer demand.
Job Description:
  • Operation and maintenance of the Patriot test assets in the PTF-A:
    • Set-up, repair, maintain, and install a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, mechanical and other components
    • Operate software and hardware
    • Identify faults and perform repair and replacement actions to resolve them
    • Perform modifications to Patriot equipment and components in support of test objectives, or as part of system configuration upgrades
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance program, and maintain performance and maintenance records on equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting on equipment and shelter hardware, to determine root cause of issues observed
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical equipment issues and review data to identify failure to recommend corrective action
  • Assist in the development or modification of procedures, manuals or other related documentation.
  • Develop weekly lab equipment usage schedule based on programmatic priorities
  • Capture equipment usage data for compliance reporting
  • Ensure compliance with security and safety procedures and requirements
  • Collaborate with multi-faceted teams in the configuration, operation, testing, and troubleshooting of the test assets and simulation equipment to support test objectives

This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of four (4) + years engineering experience in DoD environment, performing the operation, test and troubleshooting of complex military systems
  • Experience with performing technical assessments, identifying corrective actions on faulted equipment, installing and testing equipment modifications.
  • Experience with the operation of standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power meter, and multi meter.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and adjustments for military equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface and present to leadership and across functions
  • Experience in generating technical engineering documentation, and operational and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends, on a scheduled basis.
  • Active Secret clearance or interim secret clearance prior to start date. Except in rare circumstances, only US citizens are eligible for clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with the operations and maintenance of the Patriot system
  • Experience with software/systems integration planning and execution
  • Certified Six Sigma Specialist.
  • Experience leading a team: establishing priorities, providing tasks, and communicating performance feedback, supporting the growth of other individuals
  • Proficient in the use of Patriot Technical Manuals
  • Able to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 25 pounds

Required Education:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related engineering disciplines.
