The Hardware Test Engineering team works side by side with the Design team and other cross-function teams developing Apple products such as the iPhone, iPad, iMac, Watch, and MacBook

We focus on the metrology, calibration and test definition for the new product based on deep understanding of the device physics and design principles. Characterization and Test are the crucial parts of product development that not only verify the design, but also enable Design Of Experiments as well as design and product performance optimization.

We architect testers from the ground up including optical instrument, calibration and test algorithm, process and SW to be accurate, precise, robust and scalable measurement solution for Apple's world-class productions. We work closely with Systems teams , Software teams and Apple Operations to optimize solutions during prototyping phase of the new product introduction.

Consumer electronics product development is fast pace driven by the product lifetime, we work on a lot of new technologies and innovate in metrology and test field. Key Qualifications

• Key Qualifications
• Experience with metrology and test engineering of optical display related to LCD, OLED, or microLED
• Experience with device or subsystem level test and characterization including both hardware and software development.
• Experience in systems architecture design for sophisticated systems that integrate hardware systems
• Experience in data analysis especially related to testing repeatability and reproducibility, familiar with production calibration and test requirements.
• Programming skills in one of Python, MATLAB, C/C++/Objective-C is a must
• Knowledge and experience in color science and image processing preferred
• Other qualifications:
• Excellent interpersonal skills; clear technical communications with teammates, self-motivated and very responsible
• Strong leadership and problem-solving ability
• Positive outlook and eager to step into unch

The candidate will focus on the metrology, calibration, and test for new products based on a deep understanding of the device physics and design principles. He or she will develop technology for new product characterizations and tests, which are the crucial parts of product development where we shall work together with the cross-function team to verify the design, and via Design Of Experiments for design optimization.

He or she will architect the testing system, which includes devices, test instrument, computer servers, and clouds, he or she will develop high precision, high quality, and high scalability measurement solution for Apple's world-class productions.

He or she will work closely with HW Technology teams, Systems teams, Software teams, and Apple Operations to optimize solutions during the prototyping phase of the new product introduction.

Education & Experience

MS or Ph.D. in Physics, EE, or CE/CS
8+ years of industrial experience and 5+ year of relevant experience
