Job Description

Come and join us. Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our newly formed Network and Edge Group (NEX) for an exciting software engineering role. This role is part of NEX's Ethernet Product Group, where you will work on exciting new products fueling the data center growth. We are looking for a Senior Engineer to define, design, and deliver code for the Data Center Switch Platforms. This position is addressed to someone who is passionate about computer networks and someone who is creative, innovative and exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work across different teams and often play a leading technical role.

For this position, you will need a solid understanding of model-driven network management and modern data modeling principles like YANG (MEF, OpenConfig and IETF models), NETCONF, RESTCONF, OpenAPI, and gRPC/gNMI/gNOI. Open source networking software such as OVS, DPDK and next generation Cloud Native networking platforms, as used in some of the world's largest cloud and communications companies.

 

In this position, you will need to understand client requirements and translate them into meaningful reference applications that will provide executable examples of best practices for different platforms built by the team.


Qualifications

You will gain invaluable experience which will allow growth and expanded opportunities within this business group as well as future possible opportunities with other business groups within Intel.

Education Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of industry work experience

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in development experience in programming languages like C/C++, Python
- 4+ years of experience in building network stacks, L2/L3 Ethernet switching protocols
- 2+ years of experience with Network Function Virtualization/Software Defined Networking (NFV/SDN)

- 2+ years of experience with standard organization, e.g., OpenConfig, IETF, MEF, etc.
- 2+ years of experience with deploying virtualized application in Linux environments (e.g., KVM, docker container, Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMWare).

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of industry work experience
- Experience with Open Source software like OVS
- Experience with the Kernel development workflow and/or the Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK).
- Experience in Cloud Native development and principles
- Experience with containerization and orchestration
- Experience with Linux toolchain: Git, GCC, GDB, etc.
- Experience in DevOps and enjoy automating engineering processes.
- Experience in thought leadership and technical innovation.
- Experience with P4 network protocol will be a plus

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$130,020.00-$195,420.00
