Software Engineers at Mayo Clinic partner with electrical and mechanical engineering colleagues to develop one-of-a-kind devices in collaboration with world-class physicians and researchers.  Let your creativity and skills directly impact the success of the best medical institution in the country.
You will use your knowledge of engineering tools, design techniques and theory to analyze and solve complex problems in the biomedical arena. You will be responsible for documenting your work, communicating with team members and customers. You will balance multiple, competing priorities while accomplishing assigned tasks on a timely basis.


Bachelor's in Engineering or a related field and 5 years of professional engineering experience; Or Master's in Engineering or related field and 3 year of professional engineering experience. The preferred candidate will have strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse technical, medical, and research staff. The preferred candidate will have experience in some or all of the following areas:

  • Proficiency in C#, Python or C programming
  • Excellent software debugging skills
  • Excellent knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Understanding the OOD coding
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Basic hardware knowledge of microprocessors and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning Development
  • Mobile application development experience
  • Knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements for medical device design.
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.
