This position is responsible for developing & executing test plans, installation & support documentation, planning & managing initial deployments, training, 3rd level support, and vendor management for server based products. This position researches and evaluates vendor proposals for the standardization of hardware and software solutions. This position plans, designs and recommends platform modifications or additions to increase system stability, capacity, and scalability. They provide implementation planning, management, and support during production rollouts. They establish performance standards, policies and procedures. They coordinate training for Help Desk staff, operations and Desktop Technicians.  Monitors and controls performance and health of the server resources. Utilizes software and hardware tools, identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting server performance.

1. Lead departmental and enterprise-wide projects with an emphasis on new technology.
2. Demonstrate leadership experience within a Server Engineering team.
3. Provide mentoring and guidance to other Server Engineers.
4. Complex problem analysis and recovery.
5. Aid in coordinating all incident response events from detection to final remediation.
6. Provides 3rd level technical consulting to the Help Desk, Application groups, business units, internal customers and other Server Engineers with regard to Server hardware, software and capabilities.
7. Responsible for recommending new technologies for possible business applications.
8. Technical consultation on complex projects with IT server / data center requirements

1. Performance monitoring, technical support and advanced trouble-shooting of servers.
2. Data integrity, backups, restores and disaster recovery strategy, planning and execution.
3. Provide proactive Server support including firmware/BIOS updates, Support Packs, researching the latest customer advisories, implementing recommendations; ensuring the desirable server performance.
4. Package, test and deploy application packages and configurations to clients.
5. Responsible for managing large enterprise scale systems from all Server and Interface technologies
6. Validate and maintain the security posture of all server engineering applications and changes
7. Maintaining and creating standards and documentation for Server and Storage environments.

1. Researches and evaluates vendor proposal for the standardization of hardware and software solutions.
2. Designs and assesses usage to determine if we can remove applications and support from legacy systems

1. Provides strategic and advanced planning, design, and implementation of Microsoft and Unix Server systems, server virtualization and hardware.
2. Responsible for maintaining an advanced awareness of the latest technologies and trends in the Microsoft / UNIX system stack, virtualization and hardware platforms.
3. Design and document options for new application and infrastructure implementations that could be beneficial and within the vision of IT Infrastructure.

High School or Technical School Diploma required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or MIS preferred

8 + years IT experience.
5 + years server administration experience in a large networked environment.
6 + years of administration experience in Microsoft or Unix Server Operating Systems.
Experience in supporting VMWARE ESXi Environment.
Experience in supporting a large Citrix Environment including netscaler application delivery controllers
Expert Knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems, NTFS Permissions, Performance Analysis and Active Directory configuration/support.
Experience with MS Exchange 20013/Office365, ActiveSync and multifactor Authentication.
Experience with Windows clusters and hardware load-balancing solutions.
Solid IIS experience, including support and security lockdown of IIS protocols.
Experience in supporting and configuring Server hardware and SAN Disk.
Knowledge of all major storage protocols and network protocols
Storage experience: IBM and/or NetApp
Experience in System Center Configuration Manager and/or IBM BigFix and/or Dell Kace.
Experience in working with enterprise fax solutions
Experience with Deploying and Troubleshooting MS SQL and Oracle databases.
Experience with AIX Operating Systems.
Experience with IBM TSM backup solution.
Experience with IBM Z-Systems and Tape Libraries
Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis and permanent problem resolution skills.
Ability to manage detailed tasks efficiently and effectively
Strong Documentation visual diagramming skills in Visio, AutoCAD or other Sketching tools
Strong project management skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate technical proposals to supervisors and management
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

One Multi-tier IT Certification in area of concentration required: IBM, MCSA/MCSE, RHCE, VCP, CCNP, or Citrix

Good documentation Skills and the ability to speak the technology to both Technical and non-Technical audiences.
Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
