We are seeking an experienced RF/Microwave Design Engineer responsible for system and circuit design at an established provider of RF & Microwave hardware to the defense and global markets.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing, analyzing and conceiving RF/microwave receivers, low noise amplifiers, and solid state amplifiers from system design through circuit level design.
  • Designing RF & Microwave mixers, amplifiers, phase lock loop oscillators to meet module specifications
  • Documenting designs through schematics, BOMs, and CAD files of design elements for handoff to mechanical engineers on the project
  • Reviewing designs of other engineers in a peer review forum
  • Performing derating analysis of component elements and worst case circuit analysis to demonstrate design robustness
  • Performing characterization and diagnostics using RF/Microwave test equipment
  • Evaluating prototypes to recommend required changes for production, and understand any deficiencies of the design / analysis approach
  • Troubleshooting designs in test that fail to meet requirements
  • Designing, developing, and sustaining products from conception through product delivery
  • Preparing preliminary designs in support of bid and proposal activities

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience with RF & Microwave Design.
  • Working knowledge of ADS or MWO. HFSS or CST experience is desired.
  • Experience working in a team environment and ability to partner across organizations and programs. Ability to provide project leadership as required.
  • BSEE from an accredited institution.
  • Experience required with designs ranging from 10 MHz to 50 GHz.
  • Experience with design and process documentation including:

              ~ Schematics o Assembly

              ~ Test procedures

              ~ Selection and specification of components used in design and production

              ~ Product technical specifications

  • Experience with Cadence Allegro / OrCAD preferred.
  • Experience with military and/or satellite hardware desired.
