Missiles and Defense is seeking a program management/planning professional to join the Program Planning Department within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD).
The Sr. Program Planner II position will be a member of the Program Management Excellence organization, supporting MALD Navy programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance and analysis of the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for complex programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Ability to understand the programmatic solution, and partnering with the program team, lead integration of that solution into the IMS baseline plan ensuring the cost, schedule and technical requirements are fully integrated into the execution plan.
Lead creation and maintenance of compliant Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) on requirements provided by the customer that achieve necessary cost and schedule integration.
Lead the team to ensure program plan and IMS is developed consistent with IPDS and program life cycle. Must be able to review the IMS planned work for accuracy, identifying missing work or work that is planned improperly.
Understands, can create, use and recommend appropriate alternative/supplemental program mgmt. plans/artifacts (HUM, MPS, First Unit Flow), to help the program team understand and manage to the plan.
Partnering with SMEs, explain Schedule Risk Analysis results to program teams, understands SRA concepts and theory, with ability to interpret results to the program team and integrate mitigation plans into the IMS and schedule risks into the Risk Management process
Provides weekly and monthly planning metrics on schedule status, baseline maintenance, critical path analysis, and schedule variance analysis and network logic validation, employing appropriate Earned Value Management System processes
This position is located in Tucson, AZ.
Ability to obtain a security clearance within 12 months of start
Required skills:
6+ years of applicable experience that included Program Planning and Scheduling
Experience leading the development and maintenance of the program IMS
Experience using software designed for creating and maintaining industry related schedules. (MS Project, Primavera, Open Plan, or similar scheduling software)
Experience developing program-level critical and driving paths and validation of the logic/paths with the program team.
Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field of study
Desired Skills:
Demonstrated ability to understand programmatic solutions and lead integration and modelling of that solution into the IMS.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate the effective integration and maintenance in the IMS of technical, schedule and cost in an EVMS environment
Demonstrated ability to interpret/analyze SRA results, program schedule risk/opportunity drivers and schedule probability of success
Demonstrated ability to partner/collaborate with Planning and functional organization SMEs to support their program teams
Understanding of hardware and software development life-cycle, exposure to agile methodologies
Demonstrated ability to manage/lead/teach proper scheduling and EVMS techniques, principles for project personnel or teams of varying size and backgrounds.
Demonstrate the ability to understand different perspectives and ask right questions ensuring IMS integrity
Be able to identify and drive process improvement, ability to work with the team to develop solutions and solve problems.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Cost Estimating/BOE generation
Desired Education: BS Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
