The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.
The WLED provides leadership and expertise in executing the 12 disciplines in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). WLED is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for Deployment, Field Service & Sustainment responsible for the Deployment, Field Service and Sustainment (DFS) sub Integrated Product Team (IPT). The Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for Deployment, Field Service & Sustainment will be responsible for leading a sub IPT Team and providing technical guidance, tasking and ownership of the teams schedule and performance across the Missile Defense Programs as well as leadership in budgetary review and proposal captures for new business capture.
As a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for Deployment, Field Service & Sustainment, youre also responsible for Customer partnering and engineering management in one or more of the following areas:
Export/Import (EXIM) requirements
Oversight of proposal requirements
Government Furnished Property requirements
Spares Availability and Procurement requirements
Repair and Return
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Repairs
Packaging Handling Shipping & Transportation
Supply Chain support
Reach-back Logistics
Configuration Management
Depot Level Repair requirements and execution
Facility Set Up for Depot Level Repairs
10%-15% domestic and international travel may be required for this role.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Required Skills:
10+ years of experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Program Management or related technical field
8+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
Experience with Earned Value Management, budget or business finance
US Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
Ability to identify and manage DFS risks and opportunities and associated mitigation and capture plans
Experience with Proposal or Capture efforts
Experience with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS), experience allocating budget and scope, and constructing a meaningful and executable Integrated Management Schedule (IMS)
6Sigma Certification or 6Sigma certification within one year
Experience with Missile Defense Programs
SAP-based software experience
Certification in or experience writing Bases of Estimate (BOEs)
Experience managing and registering government property
Knowledge of automated procurement and logistics tool suites
Knowledge of and ability to work within the Agile Scrum development practice
Experience presenting to upper level management and/or external customers
Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Ability to knock down barriers, remove roadblocks and negotiate change
Demonstrated consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities
Demonstrated track record of developing customer relationships to fulfill their needs and ensure their satisfaction and continued business
Strong analytic, technical and problem solving skills
Strong communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills
Ability to work across multiple programs, manage diverse tasks, requirements, and commitments and interface successfully with numerous disciplines
Experience with MS Office Suite
Active DoD Security Clearance
Required Education: BS in STEM Discipline or BA in Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science
