Senior Principal Multiple Discipline Engineer

The Program Management Excellence (PMX) Strategic Initiatives team has an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced manager to define, design, and support a Program Centric Digital Analytics & Applications metric system to provide the needed insight to enable successful business unit strategies and goals.

A successful candidate will be able to translate the output of the metric and business process mapping into requirements and design enabling the PMX organization to engage in data quality improvement, a cohesive information architecture, and metrics based solutions. This requires data exploration & analysis, consensus building, and strong communication skills, across functions. The ideal candidate will exhibit an exceptional ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness, to be a process, data, and metrics domain expert enabling business success.

We are looking for candidates who are self-starters, motivated and knowledgeable about our financial, and functional tools and processes and hands on experience with the PMX Tools. The candidate should have experience supporting a Program Management Office.

This position will report to the Strategic Data and Metrics Manager-Program Management Excellence for Raytheon Missile Defense.

The PMX organization provides Program Management best practices, tools, resources, and mentoring to all Raytheon mission areas. This organization collaboratively works with programs and multiple functional areas to bring our customers the best in class leadership. This organization also provides and mentors the best talent to grow the business and prime the talent pipeline for future Program Managers.

This position may be located in Andover (MA), Tewksbury (MA), Tucson (AZ) or virtual.

Specific tasks responsibilities include:

  • Lead cross functional and business collaboration for a unified / common program metrics scheme needed to support Digital Transformation, act in the interest of the Enterprise
  • Analyze, create and deliver program level metrics that add value to the Business, Mission Area and Program
  • Analyze various tool / metric products (Portfolio Pulse, PIX, Supply Chain Performance Hub, Program Metrics, PMX Tools, NGW, etc.) to identify and eliminate redundancies
  • Drive refinement of tool roadmap and execute to a set governance structure for prioritization of new capabilities and CR adjudication
  • Collaborate an integrate with Digital Technology Digital Analytics & Applications
  • Ability to acquire a Secret Security Clearance

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical (information systems and/or data analysis domains) and /or project management role
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing, operations, engineering, or Aerospace and Defense environment with responsibilities including:
    • Deadline / Timeline Management
    • Experience with root cause analysis
    • Experience documenting detailed requirements specifications
  • Familiar with Earned Value Management techniques
  • Experience with data defense: knowledge of business process and data documentation; Experience in the area of data relationships and data joins; understanding of data governance and master data
  • Experience with statistics, including graphical representation
  • Knowledge/experience with business systems (Business Warehouse, and/or Power BI)
  • Experience implementing and training the principles of software development lifecycle
  • Bachelors Degree in STEM or Management related field

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Certified
  • Advanced Six Sigma Certification (e.g., R6s Expert, Principal Specialist, Six Sigma Black belt or Master Black belt)
  • Experience with various types of contracts (e.g., Cost Plus, Firm Fixed Price, Production, and Development)
  • Working knowledge of PMX tools suite
  • Deployed metrics and reports, to multiple functional stakeholders
  • Applied systems architecture, including data/system interface mapping
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Project management capabilities including task and risk management

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
