We create leading-edge technology solutions to prevent security threats, protect the integrity of our systems and support the RMD DT infrastructures around the world.

As a Raytheon Missile & Defense (RMD) Enterprise Common Classified (ECC) System Administrator you will collaborate and partner with a diverse cross-section of DT, Engineering, and Program Management teammates supporting RMD's programs across the Enterprise Wide Area Network (eWAN) to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. This role will involve support of a variety of classified collaboration tools including Hosted Desktop, collaboration tools such as SharePoint and Outlook, as well as communication tools providing classified chat and screen share capability.

This position is located in Tewksbury, MA or Tucson, AZ with potential for domestic travel.

Please note that this position needs an active U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible for US Security Clearances.

This role can be filled at Senior or Principal Level System Administrator (Level P3 or P4) based on the selected applicants demonstrated skills and experience.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Collaborating with cross business partners to define computing requirements and create end to end solutions consisting of hardware and operating system technologies
  • Integrating and partnering with programs to solve complex infrastructure problems
  • Develop and maintain technical and operational documentation to continually improve our computing environments
  • Engage in knowledge sharing to further develop the overall capability and performance of your technical team
  • Assuring a high level of reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management
  • Responding to online end user service requests
  • Ensuring server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (NISPOM, DAAPM/RMF)
  • Research new infrastructure technology trends, assessing their utility and developing concept of operations for deployment within RMD. Maintaining and growing your own technical competence in multiple areas (such as Windows, Linux, virtualization, User Authentication, DNS, NFS, system imaging/build automation)
  • Identifying new opportunities for using IT to reduce costs in RMD Integrated Defense Systems programs, as well as looking for ways to use IT as a competitive advantage for the company Support a Protection Level 2/Multi-Data Set environment

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree with 5 years experience or in lieu of degree, additional 1 year of System Administration/IT experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college.
  • Experience working on end-user focused teams on classified communications systems in an operational environment, including the modernization of legacy environments
  • Experience in Active Directory management and design, and group policy management
  • Experience in Virtualization, e.g., VMWare, HyperV, Horizon 7 VDI, Nutanix, VMWARE VCSA
  • Experience with Storage, e.g., NetApp
  • Working knowledge of Networking concepts
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience with Windows Operating Systems including Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 2K12 Server, Windows 2K16 server, Windows 2K19 and UNIX Operating Systems including RHEL 6, 7, 8 and Solaris
  • CompTIA Security + Certification or the ability to obtain in 6 months from date of hire
  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • Collaboration Tools experience to include Sentris, Outlook, Sharepoint, or other Microsoft Office Products
  • Current IT Systems Administration related certifications such as MSCE, MCSA or MCTS
  • Troubleshooting Linux Operating Systems and Applications
  • Data storage and data backup technologies
  • Operating system provisioning similar to Cobbler, Kickstart, Red Hat Satellite MS MDT
  • System update management with experience using WSUS & Chef or similar to products
  • Computer system monitoring with experience using SolarWinds & Splunk or similar to products
  • Unified OS account management technologies similar to Centrify
  • Infrastructure Automation Tools Chef, SCCM, Ansible
  • Fundamental TCP/IP concepts
  • Scripting / programming experience
  • Fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Desire to learn new skills and troubleshoot issues

  • Experience generating documentation/tooling aids

  • Support of Hosted Desktop environments utilizing Teradici, Profile Unity, and/or Stratusphere
  • Prior experience with Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV)
