The Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer in the Systems Engineering Research Division (SERD) supports the Department of Defense (DoD) in the effort to use model-based and data-driven processes across multiple functionalities to improve acquisition decisions and systems life cycle support.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Provide thought leadership in support of Department of Defense (DoD) transition to Digital Engineering within the acquisition life cycle
Research novel model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches to represent the aspects of test & evaluation, cybersecurity, safety, and human systems integration within a holistic system model
Lead teams of model-based systems engineers in the development of system models and other engineering support activities for DoD sponsors
Design and execute integrated modeling ecosystems for connecting system models with physics-based models, to support more comprehensive design analysis for our DoD sponsors
Execute MBSE processes including functional decomposition, requirements development, architectural development, and test program development
Develop technical papers for conferences, speak publicly and present briefings to sponsors and potential sponsors
Develop original and innovative contributions that are nationally recognized for their excellence as documented by external peer review
Provide leadership in developing and managing technical thrust involving related projects to MBSE
Participate in seminars and national symposia while maintaining memberships on national committees and/or offices in professional societies
Support the initiation and maintenance of a model-based engineering community of interest within GTRI
Support SERD business development
Perform other duties as assigned
